Hymn book titled 'Hymns and Psalms: A Methodist and Ecumenical Hymn Book' published by Methodist Publishing House, London

This hymnal was first published in 1983 by the Methodist Publishing House as the official hymn book of the Methodist Church in Great Britain and Ireland. It represented a significant ecumenical collaboration, incorporating hymns and psalms from various Christian denominations and traditions. The book was widely used in Methodist churches and other ecumenical worship settings throughout the late 20th century, serving as a primary resource for congregational singing and liturgical worship. Hymn books like this hold particular appeal to collectors of religious texts, church historians, Methodist heritage enthusiasts, and those interested in the evolution of Christian worship music. These volumes represent an important chapter in British religious publishing and ecumenical cooperation. They are valued by collectors for their historical significance in documenting changing worship practices and by active congregations seeking traditional resources for services.
