Costs for buyer and seller
Compare the whole checkout total and seller proceeds, including optional services and delivery.
There are no listing costs. The standard seller contribution to SilentCover® is deducted after a successful sale; review your earnings preview.
SilentCover® is a discretionary protection service under the SilentSale® Terms. Both sides protected equally: buyer and seller each contribute £0.30 + 3% of the item price. Decisions depend on the Terms and evidence.
UK private sellers get 300 free monthly listings on eBay and no final-value selling charge for eligible domestic sales. Motors, business selling, upgrades and other exceptions have different costs. Source
For an eligible £10 item price set by a UK private seller, eBay’s published buyer calculation is £0.10 plus 7%, making £0.80. The buyer sees £10.80 before postage, including that charge. Source
A £10 item, before delivery
Assume an eligible domestic sale by a UK private seller, within the free-listing allowance and without paid upgrades. eBay’s seller receives the £10 item price in this example; SilentSale® seller proceeds are £9.40. The buyer totals are £10.80 and £10.60 respectively. This is a calculation for these assumptions, not an all-orders savings claim.
£10 item: buyer pays £0.60 SilentCover®, seller pays £0.60. Before delivery and any eligible adjustments, the buyer pays £10.60 and the seller receives £9.40.

What is protected, and for whom
Check eligibility, excluded items and evidence requirements. A buyer policy and a seller policy can have different conditions.

Delivery and local handover
Both services offer a code-based handover. Do not treat their acceptance and issue rules as interchangeable: read the terms for the order you choose.
Tracked delivery starts from £2.96, with available services and the price shown at checkout. Use a SilentSale®-issued label and check parcel size, weight and contents before dispatch.
PIN Pickup is an in-person handover. The buyer inspects the item before sharing their six-digit PIN; the seller enters it in the app to complete the order. The PIN is acceptance. There is no shipping, tracking or post-handover dispute window.
eBay supports collection in person with in-app payment and a buyer QR or six-digit collection code as proof of handover. Source
If there is a problem
For a transaction on another service, use that service’s own order tools and current issue deadlines. On SilentSale®, follow the rules for the selected fulfilment method.
For Shipping, report problems within 72 hours after confirmed delivery, or the collection scan for a locker or parcel-shop order. Confirming receipt closes the window early, so inspect first.
Use the Resolution Centre and in-app conversation to raise an issue, exchange evidence and try to agree a resolution before escalation for review.
Listing and moving your items
Already listing on eBay? Use your own export to create SilentSale® drafts, then review and publish through the normal editor.
The listing importer accepts Vinted account-data ZIP files and eBay active-listing CSV reports. It creates private drafts for review before publication.
Review every imported item, confirm its category and condition, fill in missing details and publish through the normal listing editor. Importing does not automatically publish items.
Which approach suits you?
eBay may suit eligible UK private sellers prioritising no final-value selling charge. SilentSale® suits a private seller who wants the same standard SilentCover® contribution formula on both sides and clear Shipping or PIN Pickup rules.
