How long do I have to claim a lost Vinted parcel?

There are two clocks. One starts when Vinted says the parcel should be there. The other is the wait before a missing parcel can be treated as lost.

What to do

  1. Read the latest Vinted notice. “Delivered” and “seems lost” start the 2-calendar-day clock.
  2. Do not press “Everything is OK” if the parcel or the item is wrong.
  3. If it is still in transit, count 25 business days from the ship date, or wait for “Parcel seems to be lost”.
  4. Keep the label and tracking. Seller compensation up to £500 needs a Vinted label and the carrier’s confirmation.

  1. How long before I can claim a lost Vinted parcel?

It depends on what the tracking says.

If Vinted has notified you that the order should have been delivered, or that it seems lost, the refund policy gives you 2 calendar days to press “I have an issue”.

If you confirm that you accept the order, or you miss the window, that policy says the payment is sent to the seller. The pending-balance page calls the accept button “Everything is OK”.

Vinted’s refund policy says the refund request period starts when Vinted notifies you that the order should have been delivered, or that it seems lost. You have 2 calendar days to report an issue and request a refund. Press “I have an issue” in the conversation. If you do not report in time, or you confirm that you accept the order, Vinted says the payment is sent to the seller and it will not be able to help with a refund. The policy says it applies when buying from standard members, not Pro sellers. After you request a refund, Vinted says the order is suspended and the payment is held safely until the issue is resolved. Source

  2. What if it was never marked delivered?

Vinted’s refund policy says you wait until tracking says “Parcel seems to be lost”, or until more than 25 business days have passed since shipping. Only then will it start the investigation. The page says the parcel may still arrive during those 25 business days.

After you press “I have an issue”, Vinted says a carrier check can take several weeks. The payment stays suspended. You receive a refund if the loss is confirmed.

A seller’s compensation is separate. With a Vinted-generated label, the compensation page caps it at £500, and only if the carrier confirms loss or damage. Read InPost stuck in transit.

Vinted’s refund policy says an order that seems lost in transit may still arrive within 25 business days from shipping. It says Vinted cannot start the investigation or the refund process until tracking changes to “Parcel seems to be lost”, or more than 25 business days have passed since the order was shipped. You then press “I have an issue” and say you have not received it. Vinted says a check with the shipping company can take several weeks, the order stays suspended, and the payment is safe while that happens. You receive a refund if the loss is confirmed. Source

Vinted’s compensation page says a standard or Pro seller who used a prepaid Vinted-generated label can be paid up to £500 if the shipping provider confirms the parcel is lost or damaged. The providers it lists are Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, and AnyVan. If you sent the order without that label, the page says you contact the shipping provider about compensation. It says parcels lost or damaged at the verification hub are compensated at the full item value. It does not put that hub sentence inside the £500 line. Source

  3. Does a Pro order use the same 2 days?

No. Vinted’s pending-balance page says buyers on a Pro seller’s order have 14 days from the delivery or “seems lost” notice to press “I have an issue”. The standard refund policy says its 2-day flow is for standard members, not Pro sellers.

Look at the order in front of you. Do not borrow the other clock.

Pending money is not the same as available money. The pending-balance page says the payment moves to available balance within 2 days after the order completes.

Vinted’s pending-balance page says the buyer’s payment shows as pending until the order is completed, and that the payment provider stores it there. For a standard seller it says buyers have 2 days from the notice that the item should have been delivered, or that the order seems lost, to confirm “Everything is OK” or press “I have an issue”. For Pro sellers it says buyers have 14 days from that notice, and the order completes after 14 days if no issue is reported. Once the order is completed, the payment moves to available balance within 2 days. Available balance can be withdrawn or spent on Vinted. An identity check, biometrics, or a phone check may be required. Source

  4. What should I do today?

Write down the ship date and the date of Vinted’s notice. Screenshot tracking. Stay in the order conversation.

Read item not received, what if my parcel is lost, and return postage if the parcel did arrive and the problem is the item.

On SilentSale®, tracked Shipping gives 72 hours after delivery to report an issue. Vinted’s standard window is 2 calendar days. These are different rules on different marketplaces. Stripe holds the funds until the order completes. For a local handover, PIN Pickup has no courier clock: the buyer inspects, then shares a 6-digit PIN. Read SilentSale® vs Vinted.

For Shipping, report problems within 72 hours after confirmed delivery, or the collection scan for a locker or parcel-shop order. Confirming receipt closes the window early, so inspect first.

Stripe processes payments and holds funds until the order completes.

PIN Pickup is an in-person handover. The buyer inspects the item before sharing their six-digit PIN; the seller enters it in the app to complete the order. The PIN is acceptance. There is no shipping, tracking or post-handover dispute window.

Questions people ask

I pressed “Everything is OK”. Can I still claim?

Vinted’s pending-balance page says that button accepts the order. The refund policy says that once you accept the order, the payment goes to the seller and a refund under that policy is no longer available.

Is the 25-day wait the claim itself?

No. It is the wait before Vinted says it can start the lost-parcel investigation, unless tracking already says the parcel seems lost. You still press “I have an issue” after that point.

The buyer was refunded. Am I paid the item price?

Not automatically. Vinted’s compensation page says a seller using a Vinted label can be paid up to £500 if the carrier confirms loss or damage. A buyer refund and seller compensation are described separately.

What about a Pro seller’s order?

Vinted’s pending-balance page says the buyer has 14 days on a Pro order. Do not use the 2-day standard-member clock for that purchase.
