What are Depop fees in the UK?
Depop’s own pages do not all use the same processing figure. Read them side by side, then read the checkout and the receipt.
What to do
- Read the seller-fees table and the boosting example. Note that the processing figures differ.
- Open a real receipt or the checkout. Use that amount, not a blog summary.
- Treat boosting as optional: 12% only if someone who saw the boosted tile buys within 28 days.
- Add postage the same way on any marketplace you compare. A headline fee is not the total.

What are Depop fees for a UK seller?
Depop’s seller-fees page says UK sellers are not charged a Depop selling fee. You still pay payment processing if you use Depop Payments. That page puts UK processing at 2.9% + £0.30, on the item price plus shipping and any applicable taxes.
Depop’s newsroom post says the old 10% selling fee ended for new UK listings from 20 March, and that processing still applies. The same post dates the buyer fee to 15 April 2024. It does not print the processing rate.
Fees on that page are taken off before the money is sent to your bank. If the sale is refunded, Depop says the fees are reversed too.
Depop’s seller-fees page says sellers in the UK are not charged a Depop selling fee. It says the UK payment processing fee, through Depop Payments via Stripe, is 2.9% + £0.30, charged on the item price plus shipping and any applicable taxes. It says a boosting fee of 12% applies for sellers in the UK on new listings from 23 March 2026, on the item price excluding taxes and, if you did not use a Depop Shipping label, the shipping cost. It says fees are deducted before sale proceeds are paid to the bank, and that fees are reversed if the sale is refunded. Source
Depop’s newsroom post says the 10% selling fee was removed for new listings created by UK sellers from 20 March, and that the usual payment processing fee still applies to UK sellers and GBP sales. It says a marketplace fee for UK buyers applies from 15 April 2024, described as up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed amount of up to £1, excluding taxes and postage. The post does not print a processing percentage. Source
Why do two Depop pages show different processing fees?
They do, and Depop has not explained the gap on the pages checked here.
The seller-fees table says 2.9% + £0.30. The Boosted Listings Policy, effective 23 March 2026, works an example for a UK sale of £50 including shipping. It uses a processing fee of 3.3% + £0.45, which it calculates as £2.10, plus a 12% boosting fee of £6.00. The same policy says processing fees may vary, and it links back to the fees article.
Do not pick the number you prefer. Open the receipt for a real sale, and read the checkout before you boost. The receipt is the figure Depop applied.
Depop’s Boosted Listings Policy, effective 23 March 2026, says a boosting fee is charged only if a buyer who saw the boosted tile buys within 28 days. For the UK it states a 12% fee on the item price excluding taxes, and on shipping only when you arrange your own shipping, not on a Depop Shipping label. Its worked example for a UK item sold for £50 including shipping shows a 12% fee of £6.00 plus a payment processing fee of 3.3% + £0.45, which it calculates as £2.10. The same page says processing fees may vary by location and by whether you use Depop Payments or PayPal, and it points readers to the seller-fees article. Source
What is the Depop buyer fee in the UK?
Depop’s Marketplace fee article, effective in the UK from 15 April 2024, says buyers in the UK who pay in pounds are charged up to 5% of the item price plus up to £1. Taxes and shipping are excluded from that calculation. The exact amount is shown at checkout, and the article says the fee is refunded if the item is refunded.
Which? disagrees. Its table, published on 5 January 2026 and marked correct as of 5 December 2025, says Depop buyers pay no fee. Both pages were live when this guide was checked. Until they match, the checkout total is the one to trust for a purchase today.

Depop’s Marketplace fee article says the policy is effective from 15 April 2024 in the UK. For buyers in the UK who pay in GBP, it says the fee is up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed amount of up to £1, excluding taxes and shipping. It says the exact amount is shown at checkout, and that the fee is refunded in full if the item is refunded. Source
Which? dated its article 5 January 2026 and marked the comparison table “Correct as of 5/12/2025”. In that table, the Depop buyer cell says “No buyer fee”. Depop’s own Marketplace fee article still describes a UK buyer fee. The two published accounts do not match. Read the checkout total for the order in front of you. Source
When does the 12% boosting fee apply?
Only if you boost, and only if a buyer who saw the boosted tile buys within 28 days. Depop says simply seeing the boosted tile counts, even without a tap. Stopping the boost later does not cancel a fee for a view that already happened.
The 12% is on the item price excluding taxes. Shipping is included in that 12% only when you arranged your own postage. A Depop Shipping label is not included, according to the boosting policy.
The seller-fees table dates this 12% UK rate to new listings from 23 March 2026.
How do I compare this with SilentSale®?
Add the fees on one item, with the same postage assumption, using the receipt rather than a headline. Depop’s pages already disagree with each other, so a single “Depop is cheaper” line would be false.
SilentSale® has no listing cost. Buyer and seller each contribute £0.30 + 3% of the item price to SilentCover® (£0.60 each on a £10 item), a discretionary protection service. The amount is shown in the app before you commit. Stripe processes the payment and holds the funds until the order completes. You can choose tracked Shipping or PIN Pickup. This guide does not claim SilentSale® costs less on every item.
Read move from Vinted if your export is from Vinted. The importer also accepts an eBay file. Depop listings are started as new drafts.
There are no listing costs. The standard seller contribution to SilentCover® is deducted after a successful sale; review your earnings preview.

Which processing fee is correct, 2.9% or 3.3%?
Both numbers are on Depop pages checked on 17 October 2026. The fees table says 2.9% + £0.30. The boosting example says 3.3% + £0.45. Depop says the rate can vary. Use your receipt.
Which? says buyers pay nothing. Is that current?
That table is marked correct as of 5 December 2025. Depop’s Marketplace fee article still describes a UK buyer fee from 15 April 2024. The checkout shows the amount for the order you are paying.
Is boosting charged when I turn it on?
No. Depop’s policy says the fee is charged when a buyer who saw the boosted tile purchases within 28 days, not when the tile is merely displayed.
